How conversation addresses work
Why a long random string appears in the address after the first message.
A conversation address follows the form orcneit.com/a/c/identifier. The identifier is generated randomly and is impractical to guess.
The address alone never grants permission to read a conversation. Once accounts launch, the service will also verify that the signed-in user owns the conversation. Sending a link to another person must not reveal chat content to them.
Access without an account
Today, the address is meaningful only to the open page. Messages are not restored after refresh, and opening the link in another browser does not reveal the conversation.
