Requests from public authorities

A lawful basis is required

ORCNEIT does not provide a conversation in response to an informal request. Every demand must come from an authorized body, fall within its powers, use the proper form, and have a binding legal basis.

ORCNEIT checks the addressee, authority, subject, period, and scope. Where the law permits, an unclear or overly broad demand may be challenged or returned for clarification.

How a request is fulfilled

ORCNEIT provides only information it holds and only within the lawful scope. When the law requires preservation during proceedings, ordinary deletion may be temporarily suspended.

After encrypted history launches, a binding legal requirement may justify controlled decryption and export of a specific conversation. The action must be approved by authorized staff and recorded in a separate audit record.

User notice

ORCNEIT may notify a user if the law allows it and notice would not obstruct an investigation, the request, or the protection of others. ORCNEIT follows any lawful prohibition on notice.

Current version

The service does not currently save conversation history without an account. ORCNEIT cannot provide content it does not have, but may still have to provide existing technical information under a valid legal requirement.
